The Service

There are many factors to consider that might avoid your loved ones having to make often difficult decisions at a time when they are grieving. These include:

  • Cremation or burial
  • Choice of Funeral Director
  • Choice of Celebrant, Vicar or Priest
  • Funeral plan / plot arranged
  • Interment location
  • The gift of organ donation
  • Body parts left to medical science
  • Location of will
  • Power of attorney
  • Location of video message

The structure of the service itself:

  • Type and ‘tone’ of service (Music, Prayer, speakers)
  • Music (Entry, Reflection, Exit)
  • Readings

A message of Hope

There are two main parts to a funeral service: the first is about telling your life story and the second focuses on sharing your own beliefs and these can be combined in a really meaningful way. Sometimes a friend or relative may be able to talk about your life and then the Officiant / Celebrant will offer some reflections.

If you have any other thoughts including who you might like to attend, (or who you might prefer didn’t attend) make a note in your Book of Wishes.
