Who should deliver your service?

Unless you have someone in mind to deliver the service, a Civil Celebrant will deliver your service with as little or as much religious content as you would like included. Unless you have someone in mind, you should specify Male or Female and whether you would like a Priest, Vicar, Celebrant, friend or other person to deliver it.

What is a Celebrant?

Celebrants are individuals who have been trained and authorised to create and deliver naming, joining and funeral services and they deliver more than 2,000 services every year in the UK and the number is increasing as the public turn away from ‘Religious’ services to a tailored service which is a celebration of life.

Your Celebrant should have:

  • Annually renewed, Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
  • Full Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance.
  • Permission to work in the UK.
  • Support from their peers.
  • Peer reviews.
  • An annual quality review.
  • Full compliance with latest GDPR guidelines.
  • Full registration with Data Protection registrar.
