Music

Careful choice of music sets the tone for the whole service.

Entry

Would you like any music played as the coffin enters the venue? There might be a piece of music that you think is just right for this moment. It only plays for a few minutes, so any music is likely to be an extract rather than a full piece. To help you choose, think about the mood of the music and how those attending will be feeling. A piece that is recognisable by all will help to make them feel somewhat more comfortable, than a piece unfamiliar to them.

Reflection

During the service, there may be n opportunity for some time for your family and friends to reflect on their time spent with you during your life. This is an opportunity to play a piece of music particularly pertinent to you. Family and friends may like to place flowers on your coffin during this period of reflection.

Exit

After the service is complete, you’ll need a piece of music to play while everyone leaves. An uplifting piece would be ideal. Something to put a smile on people’s faces or a spring in their step as they leave.
